Applications to be an intern with the Middleton Summer of Solutions are now open! Please fill out both this general application  and this financial addendum.

Internship Details:

  • All interns will participate in weekly intern classes on organic farming practices, curriculum planning, the green economy, environmental justice, and anti-oppression.

  • Education Interns will leave the summer with concrete skills in curriculum planning and design, experience facilitating activities with groups of students from 4-14 years old, and knowledge of various theories of education.

  • Youth Farm Interns will leave the summer with concrete skills in small farm management, experience in running a CSA, and knowledge of how to build a community food system.

Program Dates:

  • June 2nd-August 16th (one week off July 7th-13th)

  • Monday-Wednesday: 8:30am-4pm

  • Harvest Festival: Saturday, August 16th

Desired Qualifications:

  • Youth ages 14-30

  • Hard working, organized, and self-motivated

  • Passionate about environmental issues and sustainable agriculture

  • Respect and value the opinions and ideas of young people

  • Enjoy and have experience working outside

  • Experience recruiting and managing volunteers

  • Experience planning events and fundraisers

  • Education Interns: Enjoy and have experience working with kids in the elementary through middle school age group

  • Farm Interns: Enjoy working outside and have experience growing food

  • March 24th: Finish responding to first round applicants

  • April 11th: Final Deadline for applications

  • April 21st: Finish responding to all applicants
